VANEE — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data VANEE("we", "us") collects when you use our mobile application and website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We operate on the Igniter platform (igniterapp.com) and comply with India's DPDP Act and Google Play's User Data policy.

1. What we collect

  • Account information — name, email address, phone number (optional), and password hash when you sign up.
  • Learning activity — which courses you enroll in, mock test attempts, video progress, doubts you post.
  • Payment data — we do not store card numbers. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we only store a reference ID, amount, and status.
  • Device & technical data — device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and a Firebase push-notification token (only if you enable notifications).
  • Usage analytics — aggregated, non-identifying counts of feature usage to improve the product.

2. How we use it

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To deliver the courses, live classes, and mock tests you purchase.
  • To send you course-related notifications (only with your consent).
  • To process payments and issue invoices.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with:

  • Razorpay — for payment processing.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — for push notifications (device token only).
  • Cloud infrastructure providers (Hetzner, Vercel) — as data sub-processors, bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Law enforcement — if legally compelled by a valid order from an Indian court.

4. Children

Our app is intended for users aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the app and to make any payments.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time via the in-app "Delete my account" option or by emailing support@igniterapp.com. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must retain for tax, accounting, or legal compliance (typically up to 7 years).

6. Your rights

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All traffic is TLS 1.2+. Database backups are encrypted. We run regular security reviews and patch critical dependencies within 72 hours of disclosure.

8. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your data, we will notify you in-app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
